Cherokee War - Will Virginia help the other Fort Loudoun in today's Tennessee?
Colonel William Byrd III, Lt Col Adam Stephen, Major Andrew Lewis were all the top leaders involved in a future expedition towards the Cherokee nation to save the Fort Loudoun in today's Tennessee -- a fort that mostly offered trade between South Carolina and the Cherokees.
These same officers also took care of affairs at our Fort Loudoun in Winchester VA -- a fort that was still the central headquarters for the Virginia Regiment, despite George Washington's resignation at the beginning of 1759.
