Lord Fairfax expands Winchester VA
Wed 28 Feb 1759 A Petition of the Right Honorable Thomas, Lord Fairfax, setting forth, That he has lately laid off 173 Lots, adjoining the Town of Winchester ; in the County of Frederick, most of which are already disposed of, and built upon, and praying that an Act may pass for adding them to the said Town, was presented to the House and read.

THE House being informed, That Mr Allen Howard, a Member of this House did, in a Letter to one of his Constituents, write, and likewise in a public Company, speak the following Words, viz. "The last Assembly agreed to give the Commissioners for fettling the Militia Accounts, and Damages done by the Indians, £40 per Day each ; and that is the Way the Affembly squanders the Country's Money."
